Accommodation
Here
is a list of hotels in Marseille that you can contact to book your
accommodation during the workshop. All these hotels are at the Vieux
Port (the Old Harbour, downtown) or very very close by. They are two
metro stations (or a short taxi ride) away from the university where
the workshop is to be held. Walking is possible (15 minutes) but not
very nice because of the considerable construction work in progress.
Below is all the required information. There are links to the hotels' web-pages when these are available. If you have difficulties booking a hotel, or if you have special requirements, please let us know. We will try to help you.
Special info for attendees that are also participating at AMLaP:
When booking your hotel, please keep in mind that AMLaP finishes on Saturday and that the workshop starts on Monday. This means there are two nights between the conferences.
You can also decide to stay in Aix en Provence while attending the workshop in Marseille. If you plan to do that, please be advised that the train ride from Aix to MRS is about 40 minutes long (in MRS, the university is a block away from the train & bus station)

The weather is most of the time sunny, with very fine temperatures in September which allows for many activities (sightseeing in town, swimming, hiking, etc).
Marseille is in Provence, the worldly renowned region of the French south. Besides its own interest, the city makes up for an excellent base camp for visiting the area including: beautiful cities (Aix en Provence, Arles, Avignon, Cassis, etc.), beautiful landscapes (Calanques, Verdon Gorges, Camargue, etc.), wonderful gastronomy, etc.
